The public debt has decreased in Uzbekistan over six months. It now stands at $26 billion, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan reports.
For the same period in 2022, it amounted to $26.3 billion. The main part of the debt is an external debt of $23.3 billion. Of these, $16.9 billion are government obligations, $6.4 billion are borrowings under government guarantees.
The structure of foreign currency debt looks like this:
dollar - 74.1%;
Japanese yen - 8.7%;
SDR (special drawing rights) - 8.1%;
euro - 4.3%;
Uzbek sum - 1.9%;
Recall that Uzbekistan approved the law on public debt. Particular attention was paid to an integral system for establishing parliamentary and public control.
