The state delegation of Qatar, headed by Sheikh Tamim bin al Thani, held talks with the top leadership of Tajikistan, headed by President Emamoli Rahmon, in Dushanbe.
After the completion of high-level meetings and negotiations, a ceremony of signing new cooperation documents was held in the presence of the heads of state, Khovar reports.
As a result of the negotiations, 15 new documents were signed:
- Agreement between the Executive body of state power of the city of Dushanbe of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Mayor's Office of Doha of the State of Qatar on the establishment of relations between sister cities;
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on the cancellation of visa requirements for persons holding diplomatic and service passports;
- Memorandum between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of training and retraining of diplomatic personnel;
- Memorandum in the field of trade between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the State of Qatar;
- Cooperation Agreement between the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Department of Standardization and Metrology of the State of Qatar;
- Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on agriculture and food security;
- Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of protection of the world of wild animals and their natural habitat;
- Memorandum on cooperation in the field of construction and infrastructure between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar;
- Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of tourism and trade events;
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of physical education and sports;
- Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of youth;
- Agreement between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Defense of the State of Qatar on military cooperation;
- Memorandum between the Committee for Religious Affairs, Streamlining National Traditions, Celebrations and Rites under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Awqf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of religion;
- Memorandum between the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Labor of the State of Qatar;
- Program of cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Justice of the State of Qatar for 2023-2025.
The visit of the Emir of Qatar to Dushanbe took place as part of his Central Asian tour, during which he visited Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. During his tour, he held talks with the President of Kazakhstan in Astana on June 7-8 and took part in the opening of the International Astana Forum. On the same day, the Emir of Qatar paid a visit to Dushanbe and held talks with President Emamoli Rahmon.
This tour to Central Asia was the first as the head of state of the 43-year-old Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin al Thani.
