Record decline in inflation noted in Uzbekistan

In January 2023, goods and services in the consumer market of Uzbekistan on average became more expensive by 0.82%, follows from the report of the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, Nova24.uz reports.

According to the information, this is the lowest figure in Uzbekistan in January over the past three years. In particular, inflation was 0.87% in January 2022 and 1% in 2021. In the first month of 2020, inflation was lower at 0.59%.

Inflation on an annual basis amounted to 12.19%, which is significantly higher than in January 2022 - 9.8%.

Food products have traditionally become the leaders in terms of price and tariff growth over the month, having risen in price by 1% on average. Non-food products increased in price by 0.6%, paid services to the population - 0.7%.

In annual terms, food products in Uzbekistan rose in price by 15.4%, non-food products - 10.9%, services - 8.4%.
