A record harvest has been harvested in Kazakhstan for the first time in the last 10 years, First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar said in the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports. He participated in the meeting of the Senate of Kazakhstan when summing up the results of the harvesting campaign.

“This year we got the highest harvest in the last 10 years. About 23 million tons of cereals and legumes were harvested. This is 27% more than last year. The total wheat harvest increased by 30%,” Sklyar said.

The largest grain harvest was collected in Kostanay region. It amounted to 5.7 million tons. On average, 14.2 centners were harvested from each hectare of grain.

But agricultural producers were pleased with more than one grain harvest. “There has been a rich harvest from vegetable crops. Their average productivity increased by 11% compared to the previous year. This was also facilitated by government support measures. This year, 220 billion tenge has been allocated for sowing and harvesting, which is 2 times more than last year,” the First Deputy Prime Minister informed.

Since the beginning of 2022, 180 investment projects in the agro-industrial complex have been launched in Kazakhstan. Their cost is estimated at 132 billion tenge, Sklyar added.
