The Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Regional Office of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran, and Pakistan, held a regional expert conference in Dushanbe. They discussed the topic "Integrity Screening in Public Service: Best Practices, Legal Implications, Risks, and Solutions," the press center of the Tajik Agency reports.

The event aimed to strengthen international cooperation in combating corruption, as well as to implement the policy adopted by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in connection with the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Legal Education," and, in this context, to promote an anti-corruption mindset among public servants.

Representatives of law enforcement agencies from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, along with international anti-corruption experts, participated in the conference. They exchanged views on integrity in public service, legal and organizational aspects of integrity screening for public servants, and the best practices of countries in the region in this area.

The Director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of Tajikistan, Sulaimon Sultonzoda, noted that an important factor in the successful performance of a public servant is their incorruptibility and the avoidance of personal interests in their professional activities.

Experts discussed the goals, objectives, key approaches to organizing, and possible means of comprehensive loyalty screening.

In addition, the experiences of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in applying loyalty tests and the prospects for their use in the Central Asian region were also discussed.
