The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Aybek Moldogaziev, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asian Affairs, John Mark Pommersheim, discussed regional security issues and cooperation development during a meeting in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

"A meeting took place between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aybek Moldogaziev, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asian Affairs, John Mark Pommersheim, who arrived in the city of Bishkek to participate in the regular annual bilateral consultations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States. The interlocutors exchanged views on the current geopolitical situation as well as on regional security issues," the statement said.

The parties also discussed "key agenda items and prospects for the development of Kyrgyz-American relations," the press service reports.

In particular, the parties discussed further cooperation in the areas of business, investments, and human rights.

"At the conclusion of the conversation, the parties confirmed mutual aspirations for strengthening bilateral cooperation and further joint work in all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation," the statement emphasized.

The Foreign Minister of UK, David Cameron, has arrived in Bishkek. This was reported by the British Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
