The Nomad Games will take place in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, from September 8 to September 14, 2024.
Approximately 4,000 participants from over 100 countries worldwide will compete in the events.
It is expected that more than 100,000 tourists will attend the sporting competitions and cultural events. As part of the sports program for the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana, competitions in 20 competitive and 10 demonstration sports are planned. Among them are horse racing, traditional forms of wrestling, traditional intellectual games, martial arts competitions, archery, national bird hunting competitions, horseback competitions, traditional games, as well as demonstration performances of ethnic sports.
The organizers of the Games in Kazakhstan have released the first advertising teaser about the 2024 Games.
In Astana, the Ethno-village "Nomadic Universe" will be opened, where every visitor can familiarize themselves with the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people, as well as the unique cultures of participating countries.
The ethno-village can be visited daily by up to 30,000 residents and guests of the capital. The 5th World Nomad Games in Astana will be held under the motto "Ұлы Дала дүбірі" - "Meeting in the Great Steppe."
The World Nomad Games originated in Kyrgyzstan, where the first three Games took place in 2014, 2016, and 2018 on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul and in the Kyrchyn valley. The relay was then passed to Turkey, which hosted the games in 2022 in the city of Iznik.
Due to the pandemic, the World Nomad Games were not held in 2020.
