The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan has developed a draft Government resolution aimed at reducing the shortage of energy capacity through the use of renewable energy sources.
In accordance with the project, at least half of the free part of the roof of new multi-storey buildings must be equipped with solar panels. This requirement is planned to be established as early as January 1, 2024.
Entrepreneurs, including subjects in energy-intensive industries and agriculture, will also be recommended to install such equipment on their buildings. In addition, the Customs and Tax Service will have to introduce mechanisms to simplify the import of solar panels.
