As of October 1, 2022, the public debt of Uzbekistan amounted to $26.2 billion, follows from the report of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, Nova24.uz reports.
According to the information, the main part of the debt is an external debt of $23.16 billion. Domestic valued at $3.07 billion. Compared to July 2022, the public debt increased by $200 million, mainly due to the growth of domestic debt.
Since the beginning of 2022, the balance of public external debt has decreased by 1.7%. At the same time, due to the financing of the state budget deficit and the development of borrowed funds, as a result of the implementation of investment projects, the state external debt in the amount of $823 million was repaid.
It is noted that the public debt of Uzbekistan today is at a moderate level.
