Countries of Central Asia and Persian Gulf to strengthen economic ties

The countries of the Persian Gulf and Central Asia have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the sphere of economy and investments. This was stated in a declaration adopted at the summit of the Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Persian Gulf (CCASG) and Central Asian countries in Jeddah, as reported by TASS.

"The leaders emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to enhance trade and economic cooperation and to encourage investments through the development of relations between financial institutions and business circles," the document distributed by the CCASG Secretariat stated. In this context, summit participants highlighted the need to create an attractive business climate that would promote investment in major industrial and infrastructure projects.

The first summit of CCASG and Central Asian countries concluded its work in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

All five Central Asian states' presidents participated in the summit.
