Summit of CIS heads of state ended with Japarov’s statement to Press

The latest meeting of the CIS heads of state has concluded in Bishkek, and following the meeting, the official statement to the press was made by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, who chaired the summit.

Sadyr Japarov stated: "This year, Kyrgyzstan presided over the CIS bodies, and we made every effort to ensure its productive conduct.

Kyrgyzstan's efforts were directed at increasing the effectiveness of the organization, deepening integration processes within the Commonwealth, and actively engaging member states in decision-making and implementation.

During Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship, many important events were held within the political, trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other important spheres.

One of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the CIS was the development of cooperation in the field of ecology and nature conservation.

Among the significant events during Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship, the signing of the Agreement on Trade in Services by the Heads of Governments of the CIS member states was highlighted. This agreement is important for the Commonwealth and pertains to the establishment of activities and investment.

Attention was devoted to the entire spectrum of cooperation within the organization, including interregional cooperation, security issues, the fight against international terrorism, and organized crime.

During the meeting, agreements were approved and decisions were made aimed at further expanding and deepening humanitarian cooperation.

"I want to thank the participants of today's meeting for their productive and constructive work. I express special gratitude to the CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Nikolayevich Lebedev and his team for the excellent preparation of today's event."

Before that, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan was awarded the highest CIS honor - the honorary badge. The ceremony took place following the extended meeting of the Commonwealth heads.

President Japarov of Kyrgyzstan noted that the award was initiated by the Kyrgyz side. The President of Uzbekistan received the award for his contributions to the development of the CIS, strengthening friendship, neighborliness, and mutually beneficial cooperation among the member states.

In response, President Mirziyoyev sincerely thanked for the award and considered it an advance, stating that he would put all efforts into strengthening the Commonwealth.
