Tajikistan hopes to cover budget deficit for 2023

The total deficit of the state budget of Tajikistan for 2023 is set at 0.8% of the country's gross domestic product, or in the amount of 1 billion 30 million somoni, which is equal to $98 million, Avesta reports with reference to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.

The government of Tajikistan plans to cover the budget deficit for 2023 with proceeds from privatization and the use of state property, loans and grants from international financial organizations.

According to forecasts, income from privatization and the use of state property will amount to 32 million somoni. However, the main income to cover the state budget deficit is planned to be received from the free funds of the republican budget, attracting loans and grants from international financial organizations and proceeds from the sale of treasury bills.

It is planned to allocate 100 million somoni from the sale of treasury bills to support the state budget.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the total revenue of the state budget of Tajikistan for 2023 from all sources of financing will be over 37.1 billion somoni. The state budget expenditure indicators will amount to more than 38.1 billion somoni.

At the moment, the official exchange rate of the US dollar is 10.21 Tajik somoni.
