In 2024, Tajikistan exported 268.3 thousand tons of agricultural products worth $226.7 million, Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Kurbon Hakimzoda told journalists, reports Asiaplus.tj.
He noted that the largest share was cotton fiber - 100.5 thousand tons, vegetables - 30.8 thousand tons (including 29.2 thousand tons of onions), fruits - 40.1 thousand tons (including 23.7 thousand tons of grapes), dried fruits - 90.1 thousand tons, while other types of agricultural products amounted to 6.8 thousand tons.
Compared to the same period last year, fruit exports increased by 12.4 thousand tons, reflecting a 45% growth. Grape exports rose by 13.7 thousand tons, 2.4 times higher than last year’s figure.
Exports of dried fruits increased by 6.7 thousand tons (8%), while dairy products, eggs, and natural honey saw a growth of 1.5 thousand tons, which is 7.1 times higher than the previous year.
Overall, Tajik agricultural products were exported to more than 26 countries, with 85% of exports going to CIS countries and 15% to other international markets.
During the same period, Tajikistan imported 227.6 thousand tons of agricultural products worth $186.9 million.
Compared to the same period last year, imports increased by 83.1 thousand tons, and their customs value rose by $70.6 million.
Additionally, the country imported 213.7 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers worth $59.2 million, including 170.0 thousand tons of nitrogen fertilizers, 7.0 thousand tons of phosphorus fertilizers, and 35.5 thousand tons of other types of fertilizers.
