The national carrier of Tajikistan, "Somon Air," is resuming flights to the capital of Pakistan, according to the company's press service.
Flights will be operated regularly from Dushanbe to Islamabad.
The first flight took place on June 27, 2024, and they will subsequently be conducted weekly, on Thursdays.
According to the approved schedule, the flight will depart from Dushanbe at 10:30 AM and from Islamabad at 1:30 PM (local time).
The flight duration is approximately 2 hours. The company will use Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 aircraft for these flights.
According to experts, this will serve as a new impetus for the development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan.
The resumption of the route will help strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, economic, trade, and tourism sectors.

"Somon Air" has been successfully operating in the international market since 2008 and is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The airline's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 aircraft. The company focuses on expanding its route network and fleet and currently operates regular flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, India, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Uzbekistan.
Tajikistan halted air travel with many countries at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, including Pakistan. Now, Tajikistan is gradually restoring air connections with other countries. Passenger flights to Iran were resumed in the summer of 2022.
