Amid the ongoing armed confrontation between Iran and Israel, the Embassy of Tajikistan in Tehran has announced the start of a citizen evacuation operation, Azattyq.org reports.

In an official statement issued on June 17, the embassy said it had established a 24/7 emergency response center and identified two land routes for evacuation: the Bajgiran border crossing (with Turkmenistan) and the Astara checkpoint (with Azerbaijan).

To use these exit routes, travelers must obtain prior clearance from the authorities of Iran and the respective neighboring countries, a process the embassy is coordinating. Tajik nationals wishing to leave are asked to send requests along with scanned copies of their documents to the embassy. A dedicated hotline with multiple phone numbers is also available around the clock for urgent assistance.

According to Tajik Ambassador to Iran Nizomiddin Zohidi, more than 30 citizens have already exited the country via land borders, and about 100 more have registered for departure. He emphasized that the evacuation is strictly voluntary.

Amid the intensifying conflict, all flights between Dushanbe and the Iranian cities of Tehran and Mashhad have been canceled. Iran's airspace remains closed.

The military confrontation, which began on June 13 with Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory, has since escalated with multiple waves of missile attacks from both sides. Hundreds have been killed or injured. Tajik authorities continue to urge citizens in the affected areas to seek assistance without delay.
