President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed various aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries in Dushanbe, the press service of the Tajikistan's head of state informed.
In particular, the importance of regular political dialogue at all levels and further active development of trade and economic relations was emphasized.
The parties discussed issues related to the development and expansion of ties in promising sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals, metallurgy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, transportation, and freight transportation. They also considered matters concerning the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as cooperation within regional and international organizations.
The question of regional security and strengthening cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries, including in the fight against terrorism and extremism, was also discussed.
It is worth noting that the official visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan began on April 4.
From April 3, Turkmenistan Culture Days have been taking place in Dushanbe. An exhibition of paintings and folk crafts of Turkmenistan was opened at the National Museum of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
