President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan addressed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) emergency summit in Doha, opening his speech with a strong condemnation of the September 9 military strike against Qatar. He labeled the attack a violation of sovereignty and international law, according to Avesta.tj.
“This is a blatant breach of the UN Charter. We stand in full solidarity with our brotherly Qatar,” Rahmon declared.
Expressing deep concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East — particularly the humanitarian crisis in Gaza — he warned that “violence only fuels conflict and obstructs peace.” Rahmon urged member states to prioritize dialogue and pursue peaceful resolutions to regional crises.
He called on the global Muslim ummah to strengthen unity through enhanced cooperation in trade, economy, and technology, emphasizing that “security and stability can only be achieved through sustainable development.”
Rahmon also highlighted the persistent threats of terrorism and extremism, urging collective OIC action. He expressed hope that the Doha summit would reinforce Islamic solidarity and help safeguard international norms.
