Tajik women received 10 medals at the International Exhibition of Women's Inventions KIWIE

Tajikistan’s women inventors claimed 10 medals at the 18th Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition (KIWIE 2025), held from May 22 to 24 in Goyang, Republic of Korea, Asia-Plus reports.

The Tajik delegation brought home five gold, two silver, and three bronze medals for their innovative contributions across various scientific fields.

Gold Medal Winners:

  • Gandzhina Navruzzoda – for developing a treatment method for chronic respiratory diseases. She also received a special award from the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA).

  • Rukhshona Aloviddinzoda – for creating a plant protection agent against fungal diseases and mites. She also received special recognition from the Korea Institute of Patent Information.

  • Munifiza Burkhoni – for a radiation therapy method for patients with skin cancer and COVID-19.

  • Gulandom Karimzade – for a technique of reinnervating a transplanted groin flap for traumatic arm defects.

  • Safiya Saifieva – for a method of mandibular bone grafting.

Silver Medal Winners:

  • Fariza Khalimova – for a method to diagnose endogenous intoxication. She was also honored with a special award from the First Institute of Researchers and Inventors of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FIRI).

  • Zumrad Gaibullaeva – for a technique in producing metal hydrides.

Bronze Medal Winners:

  • Chamanoro Shoziyoeva – for creating an aromatic candle.

  • Zarina Madalieva – for designing a school uniform jacket.

  • Zilola Mavlanova – for a method of regulating training loads for athletes.

According to the official exhibition website, KIWIE 2025 showcased 445 innovative inventions by women from 16 countries. Ten female inventors from Tajikistan participated—three attended in person, while seven presented their work remotely.

An award ceremony was held in Dushanbe at the State Institution “National Patent and Information Center” (NPIC) under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.

Since 2012, Tajik women have earned a total of 79 medals at KIWIE, including 31 gold, 27 silver, and 21 bronze medals.
