Tajikistan and USA ready to expand interbank relations

Current issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting between the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdaus Tolibzoda, and the US Ambassador to Tajikistan, Manuel P. Micaller, reports the press department of the National Bank of Tajikistan.

During the conversation, the parties discussed key macroeconomic indicators and the state of the country's banking system, the stable level of inflation and the exchange rate of the national currency, and exchanged views on several issues such as strengthening financial stability, expanding access to financial services, implementing IFRS provisions, and assessing the quality of internal audit. These topics were addressed during the implementation of the three phases of the technical assistance program for the project "Enhancing Financial Integrity and Strengthening Financial Stability and Accessibility in Tajikistan."

It was noted that work is currently underway to develop the fourth phase of technical assistance aimed at improving monitoring, analysis, and assessment of key financial stability indicators.

Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdaus Tolibzoda stated that cooperation will continue in attracting technical and advisory assistance to maintain stability in the monetary and financial sectors, improve macroprudential policy, and risk assessment.

The parties also discussed further strengthening the mechanisms for regulating and supervising credit financial organizations, information security, combating cyber threats, developing the securities market, enhancing control over the functioning of the payment system, and implementing the points of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of Tajikistan for 2022-2026.

The parties noted the expansion of interbank relations between the banks of Tajikistan and the USA and expressed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation and effective dialogue.
