Tajikistan and Azerbaijan have signed over 15 new cooperation documents totaling $700 million, state news agency Khovar reports.
The signing of the documents marked the outcome of the Entrepreneur Forum of the two countries held in Baku on May 20th. The forum discussed cooperation opportunities in various sectors such as industry, agriculture, energy, information technology, and others.
Business circles and investors from Azerbaijan were invited to participate in Tajikistan's priority investment projects.
Over 200 participants from various sectors of the economies of both countries attended the forum.
Among the signed documents are memoranda of understanding, agreements on trade cooperation, as well as consignment contracts between companies on sharing experience in various sectors such as textile production, cotton growing, and export-import operations.
The aim of the forum was to present the potential and investment opportunities in the Tajikistan economy, as well as to expand trade and investment cooperation between the two countries by organizing dialogue between entrepreneurs and investors. Forum participants agreed to hold similar events regularly to further develop bilateral relations.
