Tajikistan and Azerbaijan signed new agreements

Following high-level meetings and negotiations, in the presence of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a ceremony of signing new documents on cooperation was held in Dushanbe. The parties signed 14 documents on cooperation in various fields.

Among them are the Economic Partnership Program until 2025, Memorandums of Cooperation in the field of culture and tourism, the Cooperation Program between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, the Protocol between the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the Customs Service of Tajikistan.

The parties also signed agreements on cooperation in the field of land management, land relations, cadastre, geodesy, cartography, remote sensing of the earth and geographic information systems; on cooperation in the exchange of financial and intelligence information in the field of money laundering.

In addition, a new roadmap was adopted to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture, a memorandum was signed between the State Investment Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, as well as between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan and the Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises of Azerbaijan.

The signing of the relevant documents took place within the framework of the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Tajikistan following the results of negotiations in narrow and expanded formats.

The parties discussed the state of and prospects for cooperation between the two countries, as well as topical issues on the regional and international agenda. Aliyev's visit to Dushanbe took place on April 4-5, 2023.
