Tajikistan and Chinese XUAR intend to create joint industrial enterprises

In the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, in Urumqi city, an unofficial working meeting took place between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Zavkizoda Zavki Amin, and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Sun Hongmei, the press service of the Tajik Ministry reports.

At the meeting, Zavkizoda Zavki Amin presented the rich opportunities of Tajikistan in such areas as trade, economy, industry, energy, and agriculture.

The parties agreed to take necessary measures to establish joint industrial enterprises, solar power plants, enterprises for processing minerals, electronic commerce, and the export of domestic goods to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

It was noted that in 2023, Tajikistan's external trade volume with the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region amounted to $1.2 billion, which is 24% higher compared to 2022.

Moreover, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan invited Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Sun Hongmei, to participate in the event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Kulma-Karasu customs and border crossing, which will take place in late May 2024 in the Murghab district and the city of Dushanbe, an invitation which was warmly received.
