Tajikistan's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurahmonzoda Safarali, met with Takashi Nagaoka, Director of the International Monetary Fund's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. The parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation, personnel training, and Tajikistan's participation in the Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA), Avesta.tj reported.
Particular attention was paid to training government specialists in macroeconomic analysis, trade and investment policy, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy. The meeting participants also emphasized the importance of expanding exchanges of experience and strengthening the country's human resources capacity.
The talks reflect Tajikistan's growing focus on human capital development as a key factor in economic modernization. The emphasis on training specialists in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and macroeconomic analysis demonstrates Dushanbe's commitment to adapting its public administration system to new technological and economic challenges.
In this case, cooperation with the International Monetary Fund goes beyond traditional financial support and increasingly focuses on developing institutional capacity. The JISPA program trains internationally qualified specialists who can subsequently participate in developing economic policy, improving the investment climate, and implementing structural reforms.
For Tajikistan, which is actively attracting international investment and expanding the digital transformation of its economy, the availability of qualified personnel is becoming a key prerequisite for enhancing competitiveness and sustainable long-term growth.
