DUSHANBE - Tajikistan's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurakhmon Abdurakhmonzoda, met with Gazi Shbaikat, Permanent Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Avesta.tj reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the dynamics of the country's macroeconomic indicators, the current state of cooperation with the IMF, and prospects for cooperation in priority economic sectors.
Abdurakhmonzoda noted that in 2025, despite challenging global market conditions, Tajikistan's economy grew by 8.4%. This result, according to the minister, was achieved thanks to the implementation of President Emomali Rahmon's strategic initiatives, the coordinated work of the government, and the timely adoption of structural reform programs.
The parties also discussed improving the macroeconomic forecasting system and deepening institutional reforms in key sectors.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand their mutually beneficial partnership to achieve national development priorities.
