Tajikistan and Iran to create Center for Innovation and Technology

As part of his official visit to Iran, Rustam Emomali, the head of the upper house of the Tajikistan parliament, signed a memorandum of understanding between the two countries on the establishment of the Innovation and Technology Center, the national Tajik news agency Khovar reports.

The document was signed on the Iranian side by Vice President of Iran for Science and Technology, Ruhollah Dehqani Firouzabadi.

The memorandum aims at developing scientific and technical cooperation and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

Rustam Emomali visited Iran's House of Technological Innovations, where he familiarized himself with advanced achievements in nanotechnology, food, agriculture, pharmaceutical industries, medical equipment, as well as the production of feed and medicinal plants.

The Chairman of the upper house of the Tajik parliament also inspected the working conditions of the Tehran Observatory.

Earlier, Rustam Emomali had meetings with the President of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, and the Chairman of the Islamic Council of Iran, Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf.

During these negotiations, the parties agreed on the goal of increasing the trade turnover between the countries to $500 million and paid special attention to issues related to the development of industry, energy, transportation, and tourism.
