Tajikistan and Russia signed an agreement to simplify customs operations for the transportation of goods and the movement of vehicles, reports the portal Centralasia.net.
The document was signed by the head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, Khurshed Karimzoda, and the head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Valery Pikalyov. This was reported by the press service of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
The agreement creates a favorable environment for companies engaged in international trade. A key element of the agreement is the development of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) institution, whose legal status is defined by the EAEU Customs Code.
The AEO status grants legal entities several significant benefits when carrying out customs procedures within the EAEU countries. Among the main advantages are minimizing the time for obtaining permits, priority processing, the right to label goods after import, and a simplified conformity assessment procedure.
The Federal Customs Service of Russia is consistently expanding the geography of mutual recognition of the AEO institution. To date, such agreements have been reached with China, India, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Negotiations are underway for similar agreements with South Africa, Turkey, Brazil, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, and Cuba.
