Tajikistan and SCO strengthen cultural ties

A festive event on the theme "Expanding the Dialogue of Cultures, Strengthening Friendship and Cooperation in the SCO Family" took place at the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan, dedicated to summarizing the center's activities in 2023, according to Avesta.

The event was welcomed by the Secretary-General of the SCO, Zhang Min (via video message), and the Minister of Culture of Tajikistan, Zulfia Davlatzoda.

Reports were also presented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Sodik Imomi, the Rector of the Academy of Public Administration, Abdughalil Gafurzoda, the Acting National Coordinator of Tajikistan for SCO Affairs, Ahmad Saidmuradzoda, the former Secretary-General of the SCO, Professor Rashid Alimov, as well as ambassadors of the SCO member states in Tajikistan.

The central element of the event was the concert "Ten Magical Notes" featuring young virtuosos from the Tajik National Conservatory named after T. Sattorov and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Tajikistan.

Participants in the event noted that during its short period of activity, the SCO Center in Tajikistan, initiated by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, implemented a comprehensive program, including more than twenty thematic events, conferences, and roundtable discussions with the participation of well-known statesmen and international experts.

The festive event contributed to the promotion of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the SCO member states, according to the agency.

The number of the SCO members states has reached 9 (India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Iran, Pakistan) and soon a new member state will be accepted - Belarus.
