Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin held talks in Turkmenistan with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Foreign Minister Meredov, Khovar reports.
At the meetings, it was noted that the Tajik-Turkmen cooperation is steadily developing and this year has reached a new level of "in-depth strategic partnership."
The parties also discussed topical issues of Tajik-Turkmen relations in the political, economic, humanitarian and other areas.
The Foreign Ministers of the two countries exchanged views on the interaction of the two countries within the framework of the UN, the CIS, the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and other international and regional organizations. The parties also exchanged views on the subject of regional security and the situation in Afghanistan.
Particular attention at the talks was paid to the roadmap for the implementation of the results of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan in the first half of May 2023. Issues of preparation for the next meeting of the intergovernmental Tajik-Turkmen commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation in Dushanbe this autumn were discussed. The determination of both sides to increase the volume of bilateral trade in the coming years was reaffirmed.
