Tajikistan clarifies its position on digitalization and green economy

Ministers of member countries of the UN Special Program for the Economy of Central Asia (SPECA) held talks in Geneva as part of the 70th meeting of the UN Economic Commission for European Countries (UNECE), Avesta reports.

Tajikistan was represented at the talks by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Akhliddin Nuriddinzoda. Speaking as the head of the SPECA working group on trade at the event, he noted that a number of significant works had been carried out in Tajikistan in these areas and provided information on these issues, presented the country's position, taking into account the interests of the national economy.

The negotiators discussed issues related to the main prospects for finding the diversification of transit roads and the adoption of a Roadmap in this direction, facilitation of trade and transport procedures, digitalization and a green economy in the region, as well as the creation of a SPECA fund and secretariat.

As a result of the negotiations, a “Ministerial Declaration” was submitted for consideration to strengthen further cooperation between the SPECA member countries.

The event was chaired by Azerbaijan on the initiative of UNECE and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific Countries (UN ESCAP).
