A roundtable discussion on improving national anti-corruption policy was held at the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of Tajikistan, attended by representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), ministries, and government agencies, Avesta.tj reported.
As part of the joint program "Strengthening Transparency and Accountability for Results," drafts of the Integrity Efforts Assessment electronic platform for assessing the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures in government agencies and the Clean Portal for increasing transparency in public administration were presented.
Participants also reviewed draft regulations governing the anti-corruption effectiveness assessment system and the draft law "On Whistleblower Protection."
The documents developed are aimed at strengthening the rule of law, increasing the accountability of government agencies, and enhancing public oversight. Following the discussion, experts presented proposals for finalizing the legislative initiatives before their further consideration.
The creation of digital monitoring tools and the development of a whistleblower protection law reflect Tajikistan's transition from primarily administrative anti-corruption measures to a more systemic approach based on transparency, digitalization, and public participation.
This topic is particularly relevant amid efforts by Central Asian countries to improve the investment climate, develop e-government, and attract international funding.
