Ensuring food security is one of the strategic goals of the government of Tajikistan, its full implementation is achieved through the development of agriculture.
This is noted in the information message posted on the official website of the President of Tajikistan, according to Avesta.
The report emphasizes that in 2022, the leadership and the government of Tajikistan implemented specific measures within the framework of state programs and strategies in order to develop the agro-industrial complex.
During the period of independence in Tajikistan, reforms were carried out in the field of agriculture, a number of state sectoral programs were adopted to achieve the main goals.
The result of such measures was that the total volume of agricultural production in 2022 amounted to 49.3 billion somoni, and the growth rate compared to 2021 was 108%.
In particular, in 2022, the production of grain crops was increased to 1.6 million tons, potatoes - up to 1.0 million tons, fruits and vegetables - up to 3.2 million tons.
