On September 14, 2023, in Dushanbe, as part of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia and the subsequent session of the Council of Heads of States-Founders of the International Fund for the Aral Sea, a Regional Meeting of Women Leaders' Dialogue in Central Asia on the topic of "Achieving Gender Equality in the Context of Climate Change Adaptation in Central Asia" will take place, as reported by the Committee on Women and Family Affairs of the Government of Tajikistan, Avesta reports.
The meeting will consist of two panel sessions in which participants and guests will analyze and discuss the following topics: "Achieving gender equality in the context of climate change and natural disasters in Central Asia" and "Environmental initiatives of Central Asia in achieving Sustainable Development Goals."
Based on the discussions and related to the implementation of specific measures towards achieving gender equality in the context of climate change adaptation in Central Asia, participants will formulate recommendations for cooperation. Additionally, following the meeting, members of the Women Leaders' Dialogue in Central Asia are expected to issue a statement addressed to the heads of states.
It is anticipated that participants of the Regional Meeting of Women Leaders' Dialogue in Central Asia and official delegations from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to explore an exhibition of traditional crafts at the National Museum of Tajikistan, visit the "Kohi Navruz" complex, and participate in the cultural program "Evening of Friendship."
