The Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of Tajikistan held a meeting in honor of World Tourism Day, attended by employees of the central office of the Tourism Committee, representatives of ministries and agencies, industry experts and teachers, as well as representatives of hotels and tourism companies, Khovar reports.
During the meeting, participants expressed their views on Tajikistan's tourism potential and sustainable development approaches in modern conditions.
Thanks to the sustained progress in the state's tourism policy and measures taken in this field, there has been an increase in the arrival of foreign tourists in Tajikistan.
Tajikistan has been a member of the World Tourism Organization since 2007, and as part of its participation in this specialized UN agency, it annually celebrates World Tourism Day.
It was noted that tourism, as an established means of attracting domestic and foreign investments, is considered a sector for creating new jobs, a source of income for the population, and a contributor to the state budget. In other words, in the era of globalization, tourism has secured a stable position and has become a favorite and enduring activity for the people of the planet.
September 27 is celebrated as World Tourism Day, aimed at promoting tourism, highlighting its role in the development of the national and global economy, and fostering relations among the world's inhabitants.
