Tajikistan has increased its grain imports. Kazakhstan increased its wheat exports to Tajikistan by 51% in the period from September 2024 to April 2025, Sputnik Tajikistan reports.
According to official data, Kazakhstan sold 7.6 million tons of wheat in just eight months from September 2024, which is 58% more than in the same period last year.
It is noted that Uzbekistan was the main buyer of Kazakh grain. It purchased 2.7 million tons from the republic, which is almost 30% more than last season. Tajikistan was second in terms of purchases, with imports amounting to 1.1 million tons.
Iran is in third place in terms of grain purchases. It purchased 889 thousand tons, which is 16 times more than its reserves for the 2023-2024 season.
