As part of the official visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Italy, an Agreement was signed between the Governments of the two countries “On international passenger and freight transport,” reports the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan.
The agreement was signed by the Government of the Italian Republic - Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy Eduardo Rixi, and by the Government of Tajikistan - Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim.
The signed document is aimed at expanding the geography of international road transport in Tajikistan, thereby increasing the potential of international road and transit transport and in order to achieve the strategic goal set by the Government of the country to overcome the communication impasse and transform the republic into a transit country.
President Rahmon was in Italy on an official visit on April 22-25, 2024.
