Tajikistan has expanded the list of countries whose citizens can visit the country without a visa. From May 1, 2023, a simplified visa-free entry regime began to apply to 25 new states, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reports.

The list of countries whose citizens have the right to stay in Tajikistan for up to 30 days without a visa includes Andorra, the Bahamas, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ireland, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mexico, Mongolia, Montenegro , Oman, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vatican City, and Palestine (for diplomatic and service passports).

In addition, citizens of 16 countries over 55 years of age are allowed visa-free entry for up to 14 days.

This applies to Albania, Algeria, Barbados, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Dominica, China, Laos, Lebanon, Madagascar, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, North Macedonia, Tunisia and Fiji.

In addition, a simplified procedure for obtaining visas in Tajikistan is now valid for citizens of 14 countries, including Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Haiti, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria and Ethiopia.

It is important to take into account that the visa-free regime only applies to short-term tourist trips.

To work, study or permanently reside in Tajikistan, citizens of listed countries still need to obtain the appropriate visas.

The measures taken by Tajikistan are aimed at expanding tourism opportunities and strengthening ties with various countries of the world. In January 2022, a visa-free regime was already introduced for citizens of 52 countries.
