By decree of President Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan has joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, reports Ritmeurasia.ru.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources is an international non-profit organization with over 1,400 government and non-governmental members from 170 countries. It addresses issues related to the conservation of the planet’s biodiversity, develops and implements policies and actions for environmental protection and the sustainable use of natural resources, and supports projects in this field.

Joining this organization will grant Tajikistan access to funding from the Global Environment Facility and the Green Climate Fund, as well as a special flora and fauna fund included in the global Red List.

Tajikistan can also expect assistance in the development and implementation of various environmental projects from the mentioned union, given its extensive experience in environmental and nature protection worldwide.
