Tajikistan has expressed its willingness to invest in the development of Iran’s strategic Chabahar port, according to Tasnim News. The announcement came during the 17th session of the Tajikistan–Iran Joint Economic Commission, held in Shiraz.
The Tajik delegation, after visiting the port complex, praised its investment potential.
“We are ready to invest in various sectors of this transport hub,” said Tajik representatives.
Maryam Zafari, Director General for Ports and Maritime Affairs in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, emphasized the port’s strategic advantages. According to her, Chabahar has a unique geographic position and is fully prepared to work with foreign investors, especially from neighboring countries.
During the talks, both sides discussed detailed plans for cooperation in maritime transport, development of logistics chains, and modernization of port infrastructure.
Special attention was given to the opportunities within the Chabahar Free Trade Zone, which offers investors favorable conditions, including streamlined administrative procedures. According to Iranian officials, around 100 investment proposals have already been prepared across various sectors - from petrochemicals to metallurgy.
