Tajikistan predicts notable GDP growth next year

The gross domestic product of Tajikistan next year will amount to 127.3 billion somoni, that is, $12.4 billion. Real economic growth in 2023 is projected at 7.8%, Avesta reports.

According to the results of the third quarter of this year, the GDP of Tajikistan was formed in the amount of more than 79.3 billion somoni or more than $7.7 billion.

The volume of GDP increased by 7.8% compared to the same period in 2021, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan said.

The structure of GDP for this period was dominated by agricultural products - 25.5%, industrial products - 17.7%, retail trade turnover - 15%, other services - 17.4%.

According to the official statistics of Tajikistan, the volume of agricultural production for the nine months of this year amounted to 33 billion 563.6 million somoni, which is equal to $3.3 billion with an increase of 7.8%.

The volume of industrial goods amounted to more than 30 billion somoni with an increase of 18% compared to a year earlier.

The Tajik authorities plan to turn the republic into a developed industrial-agricultural country in the coming decades.

One of the main tasks of the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 is the transition from an agro-industrial to an industrial-agrarian country.
