Tajikistan presented a draft road map for the implementation of the Digitalization Strategy of the main multimodal transport corridors of the CIS countries, Asiaplus.tj reported.
The presentation took place at the 16th meeting of the Council on Informatization in Transport of the CIS with the participation of representatives of seven states, as well as the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Participants discussed the digital transformation of transport systems, the development of international corridors and infrastructure optimization until 2030.
Tajikistan's proposed road map should translate the previously agreed upon strategy from political declarations into concrete implementation mechanisms. The Strategy itself was initiated by Dushanbe during its chairmanship of the CIS and approved by the Commonwealth Economic Council in September 2025.
Tajikistan's initiative reflects a deeper process - the struggle of Central Asian countries to reduce transit time and cost. Digitalization can unite customs, logistics and transport systems, create a unified data exchange and reduce dependence on paper document flow.
For Central Asia, this is especially important given the growing competition between the China–Central Asia–Europe routes, the Trans-Caspian corridor and the northern route through Russia. If the roadmap receives practical funding and common standards, the CIS could transform disparate transport routes into a more connected digital transit network.
