Tajikistan intends to strengthen and expand economic cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union, said Ruslan Davydov, Acting Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia (FTS), at the Conference of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS in Dushanbe, Sputnik reports.

In the near future, an agreement on a unified customs transit system within the Union will be prepared, which will benefit other member countries, including Tajikistan.

Davydov mentioned that the signing of these documents will create favorable conditions for the barrier-free movement of goods between the countries.

Earlier, the EAEU announced its intention to develop the international North-South transport corridor.

According to the EEC Minister, the planned transport corridor's capacity may increase to 41-45 million tons of cargo by 2030.
