Uzbekistan has sharply increased the export of goods to Tajikistan. A few years ago, the export of Tajik goods prevailed over the import of products from neighboring Uzbekistan, Avesta reports.

Uzbekistan managed not only to balance the trade balance with Tajikistan, but also to significantly increase exports.

So, according to the results of nine months of 2022, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to over $412.4 million.

The volume of supplies of goods to Uzbekistan during this period amounted to more than $150.1 million. At the same time, the import of Uzbek products to the Tajik market amounted to more than $262.2 million.

Thus, the import of Uzbek goods is 1.7 times higher than the export of Tajik products to Uzbekistan.

At the same time, the goods that Tajikistan exports to Uzbekistan differ from the products imported by Tajikistan from Uzbekistan.

Tajikistan exports mainly raw materials, and imports finished products, but with added value to Uzbekistan.

According to official data, Tajikistan exports to Uzbekistan mainly primary aluminium, sulphur, cement and lime.

Goods such as mineral and chemical fertilizers, vehicles, perfumes, cosmetics and toilet products, clothes, shoes, baby food, household appliances and more come from Uzbekistan.
