Tajikistan strengthens security relations with Kuwait

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Ali Abdullah Saleh Al-Yahya and First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, according to the press service of the Tajik president. Rahmon is currently on an official visit to this Arab nation.

During the discussions, they explored pressing issues and prospects for deepening multi-faceted cooperation between the countries. Particular attention was paid to security challenges, with an emphasis on the significance of holding an international conference within the framework of the "Dushanbe Process on Counter-Terrorism" in Kuwait, seen as a step toward regional stability.

Tajikistan and Kuwait are expected to strengthen joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, and other global challenges. Additionally, the substantial contribution of the Kuwait Fund for Development to Tajikistan’s state investment projects was acknowledged.

The discussions also touched on expanding collaboration in areas such as culture, science, and education. Both countries expressed satisfaction with successful cooperation on international platforms like the UN and OIC, and indicated support for Tajik initiatives on water and climate resource issues.
