Citizens of Tajikistan remain the largest group of migrants relocating to Russia, reports the Russian publication RBC, citing data from Rosstat.
According to the statistics, 31% of the total number of migrants arriving in Russia are citizens of Tajikistan.
They are followed by migrants from Kyrgyzstan (10%), Ukraine (9%), Armenia (9%), Kazakhstan (9%), and Uzbekistan (8%).
The majority of migrants are men (55%), of working age (76%), and have completed secondary education (39.4%).
Almost half (47%) move to Russia for "personal reasons," 28% for employment, and 12% to pursue education.
Earlier, Tajik authorities warned their citizens about tightened border controls in Russia and Belarus.
