Relations between Tajikistan and Afghanistan have warmed, according to Afghanistan’s Taliban Deputy for Political Affairs, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Tolo News agency reports.
"Our relations with the Republic of Tajikistan are improving, and there is a notable difference compared to the past. Their delegation has visited us, and ours has visited them. We hope there will be more visits in the future," Kabir stated.
He also mentioned that the countries are expanding trade daily.
According to Tajikistan's Statistics Agency, total trade between Tajikistan and Afghanistan has approached $100 million. In 2023, Tajikistan’s exports to Afghanistan exceeded $93 million, while imports from Afghanistan totaled $4 million.
It should be noted that Tajikistan is the only Central Asian country that maintains a distinct stance toward Afghanistan's current Taliban-led government, advocating for an inclusive government.
