Temurid Civilization is in Spotlight of Global Community

TASHKENT - The international academic conference "The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Temurid Civilization in World History and Culture" continues at the Center for Islamic Civilization. It is timed to coincide with the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great military leader and statesman. Over 300 leading scholars, experts, diplomats, and members of the public from more than 20 countries are participating in the event, Uza.uz reports.

The conference is organized by the Center for Islamic Civilization, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, with the support of the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.

Forum participants will discuss the multifaceted aspects of the Temurid era:

  • Government systems and diplomatic practices;
  • Military art and the strategic legacy of Amir Temur;
  • Achievements in architecture, urban planning, and art;
  • The development of science, education, and culture in the Temurid states.

Particular attention is paid to the influence of Amir Temur's legacy on the formation of world civilization, as well as his role in the development of political and economic institutions in Eurasia.

Holding this conference is seen as an important step in strengthening international scholarly dialogue and promoting Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage on the global stage. Experts note that studying the Temurid era contributes to a better understanding of the historical roots of modern integration processes in Central Asia and beyond.

Following the conference, it is planned to publish a collection of scholarly articles and develop recommendations for the further study and popularization of the Temurid legacy.
