The number of tourists who visited Kyrgyzstan in 2024 increased by 80,000 compared to 2023, confirming the growth of the country's tourism flow. These figures were provided by the Tourism Development Support Fund of Kyrgyzstan.
The Fund notes that tourists are classified as individuals crossing the border of the Kyrgyz Republic for the purposes of “tourism,” “private trips,” and “business trips.”
According to data from the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan, in 2024, the country was visited by 8,625,086 people, which is 80,317 more than in 2023, when the number of tourists was 8,544,769. These figures include individuals traveling under the three aforementioned categories.
The majority of tourists are visitors from Uzbekistan (61.7%), Kazakhstan (28.3%), and Russia (5.6%). Together, these three countries account for the overwhelming majority of foreign tourist flows to Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, tourists come to the Kyrgyz Republic from China, Turkey, India, Germany, Pakistan, South Korea, the United States, as well as France, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Malaysia, Belarus, and other countries.
Quarterly statistics show that the highest number of visitors was recorded in the third quarter of 2024 (July, August, and September), when more than 2.8 million people arrived in the country.
The second-largest number of visitors was recorded in the second quarter, with 2.3 million tourists. In the first quarter of 2024, there was a flow of up to 1.6 million people, reflecting seasonal fluctuations in tourism activity.
This growth in tourism flow demonstrates the continued development of Kyrgyzstan's attractiveness as a tourist destination, maintaining its status as a popular travel hotspot.
