The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed with the President of the Association of National Sports of Kazakhstan Islambek Salzhanov the forthcoming 5th World Nomad Games in 2024, which will be held in Kazakhstan.
Tokayev instructed Salzhanov to carry out work on organizing the Games "at the highest level" and stressed that conditions must be created for the effective use of the opportunities of small and medium-sized businesses, including in the areas of tourism, folk crafts, and services, Vlast.kz reports.
Salzhanov informed the President about the results of the work of the National Sports Association for 2022 and plans for the coming period. He said that federations of such national sports as kokpar, zhamby atu, audaryspak, tenge ilu, baiga, hunting with birds of prey, togyzkumalak, asyk atu, traditional archery have passed under the auspices of the Association.
In addition, an analysis was made of the state of national sports in the country, and organizational work began with individual republican federations.
The President of Kazakhstan noted the need to develop a concept for the development of national sports and instructed to provide for security measures when holding equestrian sports competitions.
