Tokayev's victory in elections in Kazakhstan to be announced little later

The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan announced the preliminary results of the presidential elections in Kazakhstan, which took place on November 20. The CEC received ballots from more than 8 million people, or 69.44% of the total number of voters, Kazinform reports.

“In accordance with the Constitutional Law on Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan, territorial election commissions must deliver the original protocols for each region within two days after the vote count. The results of the extraordinary presidential elections held on November 20 this year will be established at a meeting of the Central Election Commission. The date and time of the meeting will be announced later,” the head of Kazak CEC Nurlan Abdirov said.

He also added that all appeals officially received by the Central Election Commission, territorial election commissions will be considered in the manner prescribed by law.

According to the results of the exit poll, more than 82% of voters who participated in the elections voted for Tokayev.

In total, 6 candidates participated in the elections. According to the results of the poll, the candidate Zhiguli Dairabaev was in second place with 3.4% of the vote. However, 5.8% of voters voted against all candidates.
