Trade balance in Tajikistan's foreign trade remains negative

The balance in the foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan continues to be negative. In January 2023, imports of goods exceeded exports by 3.2 times, Avesta reports.

The total amount of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover in January this year amounted to $505 million, which is 12.5% million less compared to the same month in 2022, according to official statistics.

Export of goods for this period amounted to $120 million, which is 10.8% less than January last year. Imports of products amounted to $385.1 million, which is 13.1% less than a year earlier.

The negative trade balance was formed in the amount of $265 million.

Tajikistan in the first month of 2023 had trade relations with 86 countries of the world.

The main trading partners are Russia (22% of total trade), China (21%) and Kazakhstan (20%).
